چکیده

Hepatic lymphangioma is a rare benign neoplasm characterized by cystic dilatation of the lymphatic vessels in the hepatic parenchyma. In most cases, the hepatic lesion is a part of multi-organ involvement including the liver, spleen, kidneys, skeleton, gastrointestinal tract, mesentery, lungs, and somatic soft tissue. The typical imaging feature of hepatic lymphangioma is a cystic or multicystic hepatic mass with internal septations. In this report, we describe the imaging features of a pathologically proven case of hepatic lymphangioma with microscopic cystic component, and we demonstrate the advantage of using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the diagnosis of lesions composed of multiple aggregated microcysts.

MR imaging and ultrasound of fetal cervical cystic lymphangioma: utility in antepartum treatment planning.

We present a case of fetal cystic lymphangioma that was initially diagnosed by ultrasonography and further evaluated by prenatal MR imaging. MR imaging findings aided in improved delineation of the neck mass. T2-weighted MR images revealed partial compression of the airway by the neck mass. This information was useful in the decision to use ex utero intrapartum treatment (EXIT) and helped surge...

Cystic Lymphangioma of the Breast: Magnetic Resonance Imaging Features.

BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to report magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features of cystic lymphangiomas of the breast. METHODS: MRI of the breast was performed using a phased-array double breast coil with a 1.5-T MR scanner. Routine T1 and T2 and post-contrast sequential imaging was performed. RESULTS: The MRI characteristics of cystic lymphangioma in the breast are described. CONC...

Prenatal Sonographic and MR Imaging Findings of Extensive Fetal Lymphangioma: A Case Report

We report the imaging findings in a case of fetal lymphangioma involving the retroperitoneum and right lower extremity, and diagnosed by ultrasonography and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging at 26 weeks of gestation. Prenatal ultrasonograms and T2-weighted single-shot fast spin-echo MR images clearly revealed an extensive, multilocular cystic mass with internal hemorrhage in the retroperitoneum e...

MRI of paediatric liver tumours: How we review and report

Liver tumours are fortunately rare in children. Benign tumours such as haemangiomas and cystic mesenchymal hamartomas are typically seen in infancy, often before 6 months of age. After that age, malignant hepatic tumours increase in frequency. The differentiation of a malignant from benign lesion on imaging can often negate the need for biopsy. Ultrasound is currently the main screening tool fo...

Characteristics of Hepatic Schwannoma Presenting as an Unusual Multi-cystic Mass on Gadoxetic Acid Disodium-enhanced MR Imaging

Hepatic schwannoma is a very rare hepatic tumor, usually appearing as a hypervascular solid mass with or without various degrees of cystic changes; however, to the best of our knowledge, only the two cases of hepatic schwannoma showing a multi-cystic appearance have previously been reported. We report herein a benign hepatic schwannoma presenting as an unusually large multi-cystic mass. The gad...
